SAND PAINTING another amazing ART EXPRESSION ...
Which probably has been around for a very long time … who knows maybe it was the first form of ‘art paintings’ … among natives in different regions. Sand painting is known to have been practiced by three ancient cultures: Tibetan Buddhist Monks, in the form of geometrically or cosmogram shaped Mandalas; Australian Aborigines, to honor ancestral myths; and the Native Americans – healing ceremonies and some others cultures.
Vast, unlimited human imagination …
The Navajo word for sand painting means, “place where the gods came and go”. A sand painting for a ceremony is made on the ground in the ceremonial Hogan and destroyed at the end of the ritual. They are not viewed as static objects, but as living things that should be treated with great respect.

In Tibet sand painting is a form to create Mandala - this art is called dul-tson-kyil-khor, which literally means "mandala of colored powders."- Sand painting Mandala is a representation of the universe – Carl Jung call it the ‘universal expression of the human subconscious”. It has three levels: outer, inner and sacred. It’s believed that any one who participates or even witnesses the creation and destruction of a mandala has been purified, uplifted, and enlightened by the sacred energies of the spirits.
Also it’s a form of creating ‘street carpet’ or Rangoli
